Endeavor the Perseverance

Some phrases hit you and stay with you. Not for a week. Not for a season. For life. For me, one of those phrases is this:

Endeavor the Perseverance

Those words came from my dear friend Charles Ferrel.

We were talking briefly about one of the most iconic westerns of all time, and Charles quoted those words because he liked not only what the character said, but more specifically, how he said it.

At the time, I doubt either one of us knew how deeply those words would settle into me. But they did.

During some of the hardest times in my life, I heard Charles saying those words in my head over and over again:

Endeavor the Perseverance

Keep going. Hold on. Don’t quit.

There were seasons in my life when I needed something to hang onto. Those two words became that something. They reminded me that even when the path was unclear, the journey was not over.

Even when I felt worn down, disappointed, frustrated, or behind, I was not finished. I just needed to keep moving.

That is what Endeavor the Perseverance means to me.

  • It means do not stop just because it is hard.
  • It means do not quit just because the outcome is taking longer than you hoped.
  • It means do not mistake a hard season for a dead end.
  • It means stay in the fight.
  • Stay focused.
  • Trust the process.
  • Keep moving forward.

At Virtual Vibes Ventures, this fits deeply with what I believe. A lot of people feel stuck. But sometimes they are not stuck. Sometimes they are just unclear.

And when life feels unclear, the temptation is to stop.

  • To shut down.
  • To assume nothing is changing.
  • To assume it is too late.
  • To assume the best is behind you.

But what if the path is still there? What if the reason you are frustrated is not because you are done, but because you are being pushed toward something deeper?

What if life has been teaching you all along, but you have not fully seen the lesson yet? That is why this phrase matters.

Endeavor the Perseverance is not about pretending everything is easy.

  • It is not about fake positivity.
  • It is not about forcing a smile while ignoring reality.
  • It is about enduring.
  • It is about continuing.
  • It is about remembering that progress does not always look dramatic in the moment.
  • Sometimes progress looks like refusing to quit.
  • Sometimes progress looks like surviving a season you never wanted.
  • Sometimes progress looks like getting up one more time.
  • Sometimes progress looks like taking the next reasonable step even though the whole picture is not clear yet.

That matters.

Because clarity often comes after movement. Purpose often becomes clearer after perseverance. Direction often comes after endurance.

That is one reason this phrase means so much to me. Those words carried me. And now they are part of the language of Virtual Vibes Ventures.

Keep on keeping on.

Do not quit. Do not stop. You may not be done. You may just be unclear. If that hits home, do not ignore it.

  • Maybe you are in a season where you need to hear exactly that.
  • Maybe the pressure has been heavy.
  • Maybe the grind has felt endless.
  • Maybe the path has felt uncertain.
  • Maybe you have been wondering if there has to be a better way.
  • Maybe you have been trying to understand why the bigger picture still feels blurry.

Keep going. Stay focused. Trust the process.

Endeavor the Perseverance.

Because when the picture finally starts getting clearer, the grind starts gaining purpose. And that may be where you begin to find your own gold mine.

Footnote:
“Endeavor the Perseverance” is a phrase my dear friend Charles Ferrel once quoted during a conversation about one of the most iconic westerns of all time. He may not have known it then, but those words stayed with me for decades and helped carry me through some of the hardest seasons of my life. Charles and Karen were very influential in my life. In spite of the difference in skin color, they accepted me as one of their own. They were pillars of a community where role models were scarce. When they moved away, a part of me left with them. I will continue to sing their praises every opportunity I have.
